Can Life Insurance Check Your Prescriptions?

Why medication history can matter in coverage decisions.

Records & Privacy Guide · Life Approved All guides

Many applicants wonder whether prescription history can appear in an underwriting review. In many modern workflows, prescription database checks are one of several tools carriers may use — alongside your application answers.

How Rx history may enter a review

With appropriate authorization, carriers may query prescription history services. Findings are interpreted in context: medication, patterns, related therapy signals, and consistency with what you disclosed.

What this is not

A prescription check is not a medical diagnosis by your representative, and it does not automatically determine an offer. Different carriers weigh the same information differently.
